Partnership Announces Fall Programs To Support Families And Prepare Children For School
Johnston County, NC – The Partnership for Children of Johnston County is excited to announce the release of its fall program schedule, offering a variety of free opportunities to help families with young children thrive. The lineup includes engaging playgroups, supportive parenting groups, and a comprehensive parenting education class. These programs not only prepare children for school success by building critical skills, but also decrease child abuse by giving parents practical strategies for positive family interactions.

Fall Program Schedule
Open Play: Drop in for some fun in the Partnership’s Discovery Room, where children can explore toys, books, and art supplies in a free-play environment.
- Currently on Mondays from 9 am – 12 pm at the Partnership
Circle of Parents Support Groups: Join one of our biweekly, parent-led support groups to connect with other caregivers and share experiences in a safe, honest environment.
- Families with Children with Special Needs: Currently on alternating Mondays from 10 am – 11:30 am via Zoom
- Grandparents, Foster Parents, Kinship Care, & Spanish-speaking families: Currently on alternating Tuesdays from 6:30 pm – 8 pm at the school
Nurturing Parenting Class: A 16-week course designed to empower parents with the tools they need to build a strong, healthy relationship with their children. - Wednesdays from 10 am – 12:30 pm at the Partnership starting August 27th.
Play Groups: From crafts and stories to playtime with new friends, our play groups offer a chance to connect with other families and bond with your child. - Mondays at Kenly Public Library from 10 am to 11:30 am, starting September 8th.
- Tuesdays at Mary Duncan Public Library in Benson from 10 am to 11:30 am, currently happening every Tuesday through the fall.
- Wednesdays at the Partnership office is our Bilingual Play Group from 2 pm to 3:30 pm, starting August 27th.
- Thursdays at the Partnership is our Spanish Play Group from 10 am to 11:30 am, starting September 4th.
“Our programs provide a safe and welcoming space for families to connect, learn, and grow,” said Lauren Trogdon, the Partnership’s Family Support Manager. “We see firsthand how these resources empower parents to build strong relationships with their children, building the foundation for future success.”
All programs are free and for Johnston County residents and their children, birth through age five only. To attend any of the Partnership’s programs, please call 919-202-0002 and ask to speak with a Family Support Specialist.
