Clayton Man Accused Of Threatening Deputies During Domestic Incident

CLAYTON – A Clayton man was arrested last week after allegedly threatening to kill two Johnston County sheriff’s deputies who responded to a domestic disturbance at his home.

Devin Wesley Nordan, 33, was taken into custody on August 22 and charged with misdemeanor communicating threats. He was also cited for violating the county’s firearm ordinance, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 9:36 p.m. to Nordan’s residence on Fountain Drive after a neighbor reported a heated argument between Nordan and his wife. The neighbor told authorities they heard three gunshots and saw Nordan leave the scene, prompting fears that someone inside the home may have been injured.

When deputies arrived, they began speaking with the woman involved. While still on scene, Nordan reportedly returned shirtless, exited his vehicle, and confronted the officers, allegedly telling them to leave and threatening to kill both deputies.

Nordan was arrested without further incident. Deputies seized a handgun and ammunition from the property.

No injuries were reported.

Nordan was booked into custody and later released on a $2,000 bond.

  1. 2,000 dollar bond for threatening to kill 2 sherriffs? Nevermind I’m gonna keep that comment to myself..

  2. Seriously??? That’s also considered DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TO HIS WIFE!!! The courts don’t support victims at all! All he needed to do was post his bond, get out and go **** ***!!!! I’m sick and tired of our judicial system 🤬

    • the problem is stupid women that call on their husbands or boyfriends just to cause trouble, not because of any DV abuse…it makes it harder for the rest of us that have had or are having real trouble and are really afraid…

      • Did you not read that it was the neighbor who called, not the wife? Regardless, any woman – or anyone who feels they are in danger from a romantic partner in any way has every right to call the police to ensure their safety

  3. Thems his property, y’all get out here! He has this under control. I hope they have great resources for victims of domestic violence including shelters that are open.
