Security Video Helps Identify Car B&E Suspect

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Security video at an auto repair shop helped Johnston County deputies identify a suspect.

Authorities allege Christopher Louis Maraquin, age 34, of Plain View Church Road, Angier went to the repair shop on NC 50 near Veterans Parkway on June 3. Maraquin is accused of breaking into a Chevy Tahoe and GMC Sierra then attempted to steal auto parts.

Damage to the two vehicles was estimated at $1,300.

Maraquin was charged June 10 with two counts of attempted breaking and entering a motor vehicle and two counts of attempted larceny. He appeared before a magistrate and was confined in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond.
